Veterans Day programs to honor our local veterans will be held on PISD campuses. Central will have their program on Friday, November 8th @ 8:15am in the cafeteria.  Palacios High School/Junior High will have their program on Monday, November 11th @ 10:30 am at the Fine Arts Building.  East Side Intermediate’s program will be on Monday, November 11th at 1:00pm in the East Side Annex Gym.  We invite the veterans, parents, and all members of the community to these programs as we honor our Veterans and members of our armed forces.  We encourage students and our guest to wear red, white, and blue.
Show our community support by cheering them on along the bus route as they leave the Fine Arts Building parking lot at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 5th and head to San Antonio. See the attached bus route.
The Palacios High School National Honor Society chapter inducted 19 new members at their annual induction ceremony Monday, October 28. These new members join the current members bringing the chapter’s total membership to 35 outstanding students. Central Families, We will be having some learning fun with our students on Thursday, October 31, 2019. Students may dress in their favorite book character costume. This opportunity is optional, and students are not required to participate. Class discussions and activities will make learning connections to character traits and fiction vs. fantasy. Palacios High School Senior, Kaleb Mikeska has been named a Commended Student in the 2020 national Merit Scholarship Program.  About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended students placed among the top 50,000 scores of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2020 competition by taking the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
The FIN Award was created to encourage students, staff, parents and community members to recognize Palacios ISD employees for the positive things they do for our students and the district. Palacios and Tidehaven FFA would like to thank everyone who assisted in collecting non-perishable items and school supplies for our 15th annual "Stock the Stock Trailer" competition. Palacios FFA collected 2,986 items and Tidehaven FFA collected 1,611 items for a total of 4,597 items. All of the items will be donated to the food pantries that services the Palacios and Tidhaven school districts.
PHS senior Liza Hurtado was one of more than 46 students, faculty, administrators and community residents who donated during the National Honor Society’s annual blood drive at the high school. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, more than 138 lives will be saved.
