The School Messenger automated system used by Palacios ISD, enables school administrators to record, schedule, send, and track personalized voice messages to students, parents and staff. For added convenience, messages sent by district personnel using School Messenger are listed below:

This is Vicki Adams, Superintendent of Palacios ISD.  I am utilizing our new automated message system.  In the event of an emergency, a message will be sent to the numbers and email addresses listed in our system; therefore, please be sure to keep numbers and email addresses updated on your child’s campus.  Staff members will also be sending messages periodically reminding you of upcoming events. 


Have a wonderful weekend!  Remember Daylight Savings Time will end Sunday; set your clocks back one hour.

This is Vicki Adams, Superintendent of Palacios ISD.  This is a reminder that Tuesday, November 24th is an early release day.  Pre-K and Kinder students will be released at 12:30.  1st grade through 12th grade will be released at 1:00.  Staff will be released shortly thereafter at 1:30.  School will resume on Monday, November 30th.  Have a blessed Thanksgiving holiday and if traveling, may you have safe journeys.

This message is from Carolyn Kubecka, principal of East Side Intermediate.  I wanted to remind you of our Christmas Family Reading Night Tuesday evening in the cafeteria from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.  Please join us for hot chocolate as we listen to the classic holiday story, “Twas the Night Before Christmas”.  We will also sing Christmas Carols and make gingerbread houses. Tuesday morning from 8:00 -9:00 a.m. parents are invited to our Family Center to help us prepare supplies for the Family Reading Night. We will have guest speakers on using the cricut machine which cuts out shapes for scrapbooking and decorating. Mrs. Cassie Billings, R.N. will survey parents on topics of interest for future meetings. Child care will be available.We look forward to seeing you Tuesday morning for our parent meeting and Tuesday night for our Family Reading Night.

This is Vicki Adams, Superintendent of Palacios ISD. On Friday, December 18th, PISD will have early dismissal for all students and staff. Morning Pre-K students dismiss at 9:45 a.m. on Friday; afternoon Pre-K and kindergarten students will release at 12:30 p.m.  All other students 1st through 12th grade will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m. with staff being released at 1:30 p.m. School will resume on Monday, January 4th. The PISD Board of Trustees and I wish you all a very safe and blessed Christmas vacation.

This is a message from Carolyn Kubecka principal at East Side Intermediate.  I wanted to remind you of the family TAKS night titled “Be aware, be prepared” to be held on Monday, January 18th.  The activities will be held in the library and will begin with a PTO meeting at 5:00 p.m.  5th grade TAKS reading program will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the 4th grade TAKS writing program at 6:00 p.m.  Teachers will be discussing strategies parents can put into practice with their child at home before the upcoming TAKS test.  All students who attend will receive an ice cream coupon.  If you have any question, call the school at 361-972-2016.  We look forward to seeing you Monday night.

This message is from Carolyn Kubecka, Principal of East Side Intermediate.  I wanted to remind you of our Star Gazing Night on Monday, February 1st from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. We will have lots of activities including a chance to tour the Star Lab, make a constellation, eat a model of the earth, and use a telescope.  If you have a telescope, we would love for you to bring it.

This is Vicki Adams, Superintendent of Palacios ISD with a public service message.  Every 10 years, the Census Bureau counts everyone living in the U.S., to determine congressional representation and the distribution of federal funds back to communities and schools systems.  The Census questionnaire will arrive in your mailbox in the next few days.  We hope you will take the 10 minutes necessary to fill it out and mail it back in the enclosed envelope, no postage necessary.  The information is confidential will not be shared with any individual or governmental agency.

Good evening, this is Carolyn Kubecka, Principal at East Side Intermediate.  I wanted to remind you that Monday, March 15th is picture day.  Please send $10.00 to school tomorrow morning if you would like a class picture and $15 if you would like a class picture with a pennant.  Students will also be taking individual pictures.  Please mark on the form what pose you would like for your child.  No money is required for individual pictures.   You will have an opportunity to buy individual pictures after you have previewed them.

Also, I hope you have remembered to set your clocks forward last night so your child will be on time Monday morning.  If you have any questions, please call the East Side at 361-972-2016.  Good night!

Good evening, this is Vicki Adams, Superintendent of Palacios ISD.  This is a reminder that tomorrow, March 31st will be early dismissal for staff and students.  PreK & K will be dismissed at 12:30, students at 1:00 and staff at 1:30.

Also, you should have received your Census Bureau Survey in the mail by now.  If you have not already done so, please complete it and send it in.  Mine took about 10 minutes to complete.  Have a blessed Easter Break and see you back at school on Monday, April 5th.

Good evening, this is Carolyn Kubecka, the principal at East Side Intermediate.  Because our students did so well on their TAKS test, we have several rewards this week.  Monday the 5th grade students will be attending a movie in El Campo and permission slips are required.  The 6th grade will be swimming and they will need their swim suits.  The East Side 4th & 5th graders along with the 6th grade choir will be singing at the Fine Arts Building Monday night at 7:00 p.m.  Your child will need to meet us on the stage at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the 5th graders will be swimming during the day and the 4th grade students who received commended performance will swim after school at 3:45. Please refer to the note which was send home on Friday for additional information. If you have any further questions, you may contact the school at 972-2016. Good night!

Palacios ISD is providing free meals to all children ages 1 through 18 this summer.  There are no qualifications to meet, and no need to sign up – just show up and eat.  Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 8:30am, and lunch is served from 11:30am to 12:30pm.  Meals are served at the Central Elementary cafeteria Monday through Thursday each week.  On June 28th, the summer feeding program will move to the East Side Intermediate cafeteria.

All kids are welcome to come have a free meal.
